Homeless couple in Gloucester 'lose everything' in Storm Ciara

A homeless couple in Gloucester have 'lost everything' in Storm Ciara after their tent was flooded.

Lauren Butcher and her partner Jason Jenkins had been living in a tent on Alney Island, next to the River Severn, for the past two weeks.

But on Tuesday (11th February) morning they were alerted by nearby workmen about the danger of rising waters threatening their home.

Waters had already reached knee high and luckily - thanks to the early warning - they were able to reach safety just moments before their home was overrun by floods.

The couple had been using a generator to power electrical devices like tablets and laptops - which have now all been destroyed by the floods.
