A dad who left Birmingham has spoken of his incredible recovery from living in a homeless shelter with his kids to becoming a community champion.
Mike Trower is a full-time dad to his two young kids, named Cody and Laura, after a relationship breakdown.
The dad, from Birmingham, left his city home for Devon in November 2018, but found himself relying on foodbanks.
Mike, who faced an agonising six week wait to start claiming Universal Credit, told DevonLive : "I had about eight carrier bags of tins - so generous - I was gob-smacked, but I didn't know how to cook any of it
So Mike decided to do some cooking with Cody, who is now four, and put the videos online.
