New 'pods' that will house homeless people could be built on land a Reading car park as council bosses look to cut costs caused by the coronavirus crisis.
Reading Borough Council's Policy Committee is set to approve temporary accommodation for homeless people on the land next to the Cattle Market Car Park in Great Knollys Street.
The plans propose 40 of the 'pods', similar to those used to create a development for the homeless in Lowfield Road, Caversham.
