When I was made homeless in 2018, I only had the essentials on me: some clothes, personal items and a Nokia phone with no internet access. I had been in Nigeria for three years up until that point, caring for my sick mother, and when I returned to London I found out that I had nowhere to go. I felt shut off from the entire world and incredibly lonely. While I managed to find accommodation within three months, it was only in May this year that I managed to gain a smartphone – and it really has given my life some stability.
