German town installs sleep pods to give homeless people protection

The German city of Ulm has introduced a unique solution for rough sleepers during the winter months – warm sleep pods placed in parks and other places where homeless people are known to sleep. The city, 75 miles west of Munich, has dubbed the futuristic shelters the ‘UlmerNest’. The cabins are made of wood and steel, and fit up to two people inside, protecting from cold and rain while circulating fresh air throughout.
