Take our 'Hundred for the Homeless' Challenge

As we start to think about the summer, get outside, get a bit fitter, work off those Easter eggs and raise vital funds for Crawley Open House by taking part in our sponsored Hundred For The Homeless challenge. During the month of May walk, cycle, run, swim or row 100 miles, or do 100 of anything you choose if you would prefer. Plant 100 shrubs, knit 100 items, make 100 pots of jam, write 100 letters .. its entirely up to you and what you and or your family and friends are able to do.

Crawley Open House is a local independent charity who have served the homeless and vulnerable for 26 years. Today we run a 24 bed high-support hostel, 4 move-on houses with 20 residents, a drop-in day centre, a crisis food parcels service and a community outreach team. No-one locally does more on the front-line to look after those who find themselves homeless or disadvantaged. We can only do what we do because of the support of the generous community around us, which is why we need your help this May.

We are aiming to raise £10,000 through this challenge thats around 100 people raising around £100 each for those less fortunate than themselves will you be one of them? You might raise more or less anything you can do would be brilliant and funds will go towards the purchase of a people carrier so that we can get residents and clients to their appointments more safely and comfortably than in our current small car. Every day our staff drive and accompany people to places such as the GP, probation, drug & alcohol service, Council, mental health team, hospital, job centre, dentist or property viewing to try and help get them back on their feet, and the people carrier will be a huge help with this, especially at a time when its still important to be socially distanced.

Register your interest at www.crawleyopenhouse.co.uk/hundred and we will email you a joining pack with more information and a scoresheet for you to track your progress through the month. Get involved with family, workmates, friends or by yourself, and have fun whilst raising funds for your local homeless shelter.
