Volunteering
We couldn’t do what we do without our fabulous volunteers!
There are loads of volunteering opportunities and if you can spare a couple of hours you’ll be working with a fun, friendly team. If you are aged 18+ you can volunteer alone or with friends, family and colleagues. Some of the ways you can help:
Kitchen Takeover
Up to five volunteers ‘takeover’ our hostel kitchen. They shop, prepare and cook a meal for up to 40 of our hostel residents, service users and staff. For those that love to cook you can make everything from scratch. If cooking isn’t your thing you can bring in pizzas or ready meals. Either way we will be hugely grateful - especially if you do the washing up!
Corporate Partners
We are fortunate to have the support of many local businesses that help in the hostel kitchen or in the maintenance and gardening at the hostel or move-on houses.
Companies may also choose to support an initiative such as paying for a year’s supply of coffee, the revamp of a hostel bedroom or an infrastructure upgrade. We currently have an aged fleet of vehicles that we use to help clients get to appointments, collect donations and attend events. We’d love to convert some of these to electric vehicles.

Volunteer Van Driver
We are looking for a volunteer van driver to help pick up food and donations every Wednesday at various shops around Crawley. A manual Ford Transit van is provided. Applicants must possess a full, clean UK driving licence.
Volunteers must have empathy with our client group and the ability to work within the ethos of Crawley Open House.
Please be aware that we can only accept applicants with the right to work in the UK.

Event Volunteers
We have a busy events calendar that includes outdoor sports fundraisers, indoor quizzes, carol singing at Christmas and collecting donations via our buckets and shakers all year round. With your help we can make these fundraisers a success! If you might be able to help now and again, please contact us.
