What We Do

Every night Crawley Open House is ‘home’ to 60 men and women who live in our hostel or one of our move-on houses. Our Outreach & Resettlement team supports people in insecure accommodation or who are sleeping rough, while our Resource Centre offers a wealth of services at no cost: from employability skills to hot showers. Learn more about our work here.

Hostel

Our 24-bed high-support hostel offers private single and double rooms for adults, primarily with a local connection, who have fallen through society’s cracks and have nowhere to go.

Move-On Houses

Once a client is ready to leave the hostel, we support their move, which is sometimes to one of our seven local move-on properties where they can stay for up to two years. The move-on accommodation acts as a half-way point for clients moving from the high-support hostel to independent living.

Move-on Houses

Outreach & Resettlement

The Outreach team goes into the local area to help those who are at imminent risk of becoming homeless, who are street sleeping, or who are bedding down in cars or in tents. They offer practical support and signpost to other agencies who might be able to help.

Our Resource Centre

Located opposite the hostel, the Resource Centre is a free drop-in facility that is open every weekday. Anyone can pop in for a hot drink and a bite to eat in a safe, welcoming environment.

Service Users

Crawley Food Bank Partnership

We are partners with our friends at the Easter Team in running the Crawley Food Bank Partnership, the town's largest provider of emergency food parcels. We support people experiencing food poverty with emergency food parcels and work with them to address some of the issues creating their crisis. We rely heavily on donated food to provide this service, from a range of generous supermarkets, shops, catering outlets, places of worship, schools, companies and individuals.
