Hundred for the Homeless

Last year was busy for Crawley Open House. Crawley and the surrounding area continue to record high levels of homelessness and our hostel beds were full more than 99% of the time. Key to the services we offer is food. From the three meals a day we provide to residents in our high-support hostel to the food parcels we give to people in food crisis.
Local schools and places of worship have generously supported Crawley Open House and The Easter Team charities at harvest time for many years. For more than 30 years, we have worked together and we are reaching out in the hope you can support us.
Around 75% of everything we give to those in need was donated to us – this means that without the kindness and generosity of the community around us we would not be able to help those who need us most.
To work more efficiently in tackling the growing levels of food poverty locally, Crawley Open House and The Easter Team have combined food donations and stores under the name of the Crawley Foodbank Partnership. Given the scale of need, we are making a joint appeal to ask you to consider donating the proceeds of your harvest festivals and collections to us this year.
The most useful items are tins or packets of the following: meat, fish, vegetables, soup, beans and fruit, sugar, UHT milk, cereals, rice, instant noodles, cooking sauces, bottles of squash, desserts, coffee/ tea and biscuits, but of course, all donations are welcome.
If it’s helpful, we would be delighted to visit you to talk at a service or assembly about the work we do. To arrange this or a harvest donation and collection, please contact Annabel Walker at annabel.walker@crawleyopenhouse.co.uk or 01293 407 658.
Thank you so much for your support.
