Hundred for the Homeless
STORIES
STORIES - JOHN
The following is a true account, the name has been changed.
John had been rough sleeping in towns across Sussex for 3 years.
The Crawley Open House Outreach team first came in contact with John
while he was bedding down in a shop front in Crawley.
It was clear John had multiple issues which had made him street
homeless and was resistant to coming into the hostel in Three Bridges.
But after a few weeks of hard work from our Outreach Team, meeting him and supporting him, he decided to take up the offer of a bedspace at Crawley Open House.
With daily support from our Health Team, he started to improve healthwise, both physically and mentally and our Resettlement Team organised a move to supported housing.
